Have you ever copied something, copied something else, and lost the first thing forever?
Normally, your computer only remembers the very last thing you copied. Luckily, Windows has a feature called Clipboard History that saves the last several items for you.
Let's turn it on. Press the Windows key and V at the same time. The first time you do this, you'll see a button that reads Turn on. Go ahead and click it, and that's it.
From now on, Windows keeps a running list of text and images you copy. So go ahead and copy a few things like you normally would using Control and C. When you're ready to paste, press Windows key and V instead of Control V.
A small window opens with everything you've copied recently. Click the one you want, and it pastes right where your cursor is.
Is there something you paste all the time, like your address or a standard email reply? Click the three dots next to it and select Pin. Pinned items stay put. One quick note: The list clears when you restart, except for the pinned items, so don't treat it like permanent storage.
And that's Clipboard History, a small shortcut that saves you a lot of retyping.
